HTC's latest flagship, the all-aluminum HTC One A9, has been repeatedly called out for its similarity to the iPhone 6. Now, HTC's commercial for the handset is also drawing comparisons to Apple.

Entitled "Be Brilliant," the Taiwanese company's latest commercial is strikingly similar to Apple's iconic 1984 commercial. The ad, released Wednesday, also throws some serious shade at Apple.

The spot opens with an unnamed hero running through a dystopian environment while scores of expressionless men and women -- all dressed alike -- march in lock-step around him. He, of course, has an HTC One A9 in hand as the words "Be Different" and "Be Bold" flash across the screen.

He then jumps into a room where what can only be described as the creepiest meal ever is taking place.

After enlisting the help of one of said dinner guests, it cuts to a group running through a forrest before closing with the words "Be Brilliant." If that's not enough symbolism for you there's also a part where he literally kicks a pile of apples.

And, for reference, here's Apple's 1984 commercial.
