"I don't have any knowledge, but that is not to say we are not looking at it," he said. "But from my point of view, we are not saying we are closed to a new operating system. We will review each one to make sure it's the best for our customers."

It's no secret that RIM is going through a rough patch, to say the least. And HTC -- not so long ago the No. 1 Android OEM -- is now struggling, too.

HTC has yet to release a phone (or an entire line-up) to boost it back to the top, and the One series failed to consolidate HTC as the No. 1 Android device maker. Now the company may be preparing to unveil a couple of new Windows Phone devices and Android refreshes.
