Now, HTC is reportedly planning a comeback attempt with an unnamed tablet that will "definitely" arrive sometime in the future, according to PC Advisor.
Details on HTC's upcoming mystery machine are slim, but a spokesperson told PC Advisor that it will have a "unique selling point" to separate it from competition, such as Apple's iPad, Amazon's Kindle Fire, Google's recently released Nexus 7 and Microsoft's upcoming Surface tablet.
The new tablet will likely follow suit with HTC's previous tablets and run some version of Android OS. The release date is still unknown.
HTC made a name for itself with its state-of-the-art Android smartphones. However, the company has had little luck expanding into the tablet market while its smartphones have found increasing competition from other producers, including Samsung and Motorola. HTC recently slashed its Q2 revenue prediction by 13%.
The company was also reportedly not asked by Microsoft to build phones for Microsoft's upcoming Windows 8 mobile OS.
