A new Hulu original comedy about a man's adventures in helping ghosts "settle their unfinished business" in New York, Deadbeat, will air in 2014, the video-streaming service announced Tuesday. This follows several new series launches on Hulu in recent months.
The supernatural show, which will arrive as 10 half-hour episodes, is the first partnership between Hulu and Lionsgate's television branch. They will start production in fall 2013.
Described as "fun, edgy and provocative" by Lionsgate Television Group President Kevin Beggs, the series comes from creators Cody and Brett Konner, who previously helped with Wilfred and The Inbetweeners. Dakota Pictures' Troy Miller will direct and executive produce Deadbeat with production assistance from Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment.
