On the seven-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina's horrific plummet onto New Orleans, the city's residents once again are storing food and boarding up their houses as Hurricane Isaac pounds the city. Tracking the hurricane's trail are Twitter, Instagram and YouTube users, sharing first-hand impressions of the storm.

Social media users expressed widespread support for the city of New Orleans, in addition to sharing images of the rainfall and wind damage. Another conversation dominating the social web was between former residents of New Orleans, who discussed how their lives had changed since Katrina in 2005.

We've collected social media posts in the below Storify, giving you a taste of the web's sentiment Wednesday morning. Are you in Isaac's path? Send Mashable your pictures of the storm.
