Not too long ago, Shannon fell under the 64% of Americans who don't even own a passport, and counted visits to seven U.S. states as a solid traveling effort. Today, he's one half of a travel blog and boasts a passport rich with stamps from around the globe.

This dramatic change is all because of two things: Hurricane Katrina, which forced the New Orleans native west to LA, and a tweet that led him to Tiana; a photographer, writer and LA native who was on her third passport and fourth language when they met.

Tiana introduced Shannon to the thing he now loves most -- travel -- and, nearly five years on, the couple are full time travel bloggers, sharing their adventures via their blog, Power Couple Life, and their social media accounts. Together they travel the world exploring new places, sampling local cuisine and documenting it all online.

Their digital efforts provide a memory bank for the couple and inspiration for that passport-less 64%, but the pair admit to being constantly online and are aware of the many real-world moments lost while choosing an Instagram filter or writing a blog post.

Cutting themselves off permanently isn't an option the power couple or their followers want to consider, but dedicating just one day to traveling device-free could make their experiences all the richer. Watch below as Shannon and Tiana do just that in upstate New York, and share more of their incredible story.
