Instagram released its new time-lapse video app Hyperlapse on Tuesday that allows users to easily make time-lapse videos without shelling out thousands of dollars in video equipment.

So, before your Instagram and Facebook friends will almost assuredly do the same, we took to the four major bridges of New York -- the Brooklyn, the Williamsburg, the Manhattan and the George Washington -- to see how Hyperlapse fared.

The results: Expect a lot of time-lapse bridge videos in your Newsfeeds in the coming days -- that means you too, San Francisco. You've been warned.

Hyperlapse is now available for a free download in the Apple App Store.
