Weird Ice Balls Litter Lake Michigan Shoreline

Winter temperatures at an all-time low due to the polar vortex have made nature act a little strange.

Not even Lake Michigan can escape Mother Nature's fury. From a frozen lighthouse to the lake nearly freezing over, the Great Lake is now producing balls of ice.

Better known as "Ice Boulders," this video shows a massive stretch of Glen Arbor, Mich. shoreline littered with frozen balls washing ashore. Much like smooth skipping-stones normally found at the beach, waves toss and turn huge chunks of ice, eventually turning them into ball-shaped boulders.
