Ice flows downriver in Maine as spring thaw finally arrives

Ice floes coursed down Maine's Aroostook River on April 19th, after ice built up during the course of a harsh winter began breaking up as spring weather settled in. This comes after Maine's 12th coldest March on record, and one of its coldest months of February as well. The communities of Bangor and Caribou had their coldest Februarys on record, for example.
