Yo, Durham Academy, drop a beat. Word to your mother (or legal parental guardian).

At the Durham Academy in Durham, N.C., Michael Ulku-Steiner and Lee Hark, head of school and assistant head of school, respectively, decided to have a little fun with the weather announcements canceling school for Thursday. The two administrators posted a a goofy rendition of Vanilla Ice's "Ice, Ice Baby" to YouTube on Wednesday, no doubt to their students' delight. The kids got to stay home from school and got a good laugh out of it.

Ulku-Steiner and Hark aren't the first school admins to entertain their students with creative announcements. Stephens Elementary in Kentucky also broke the good news about a snow day to students a few weeks ago with their version of "Bohemian Rhapsody."

We only wish all our former teachers were this colorful. With administrators like these, it's hard to imagine students wanting to stay home from school at all.
