Idris Elba is officially the fastest actor in Hollywood.

The British actor teamed up with Bentley on May 7 to break the British land speed record known as the "Flying Mile." The record was last set by Sir Malcolm Campbell in 1927.

According to a press release from Bentley, the record set by Campbell was 174.8 mph in his Napier-Campbell Blue Bird. Elba exceeded that with his top speed of 180.361 mph while driving a Bentley Continental GT Speed.

The drive was completed on a beach in South Wales while Elba was filming an autobiographical documentary series entitled, Idris Elba: No Limits, which is set to air on the Discovery Channel in the summer.

Holding a record like the "Flying Mile" certainly bumps the award-winning actor from Hollywood star status to an international super spy.

Carry on, speed racer.
