It can be tough to find your car in a parking lot. Sometimes you forget where you park it; other times, an enormous sinkhole opens up and swallows your car whole.

At the IHOP in Meridien, Mississippi, on Saturday, a 50-foot sinkhole opened up in the middle of the parking lot. Police at the scene estimated that more than a dozen vehicles had sunk into the pavement.

“When we arrived on scene, 14 to 15 vehicles that we could see had fallen roughly 30 feet into the ground. We expect that there may be more and that they may fall further into the ground because there is only mud underneath,” Patrol Lieutenant Rita Jack told NBC News.
