Ikea Looks to Match Up Lonely People for Christmas

Ikea Switzerland wants to help populate some of its furniture this holiday season via "No Empty Chairs," a program that aims to match up lonely people this Christmas season.

The company's website lets you register as a host or a guest at someone's home. When Christmas rolls around you will either host a stranger or be invited to a stranger's house, depending on how you choose.

As Creativity Online points out, the program sounds like the premise of a Hugh Grant holiday comedy. Of course, it could be a tragedy as well, but Ikea is claiming no legal responsibility if you happen to invite a serial killer to your house.
