Imeem has teamed up with yet another film studio, Microcinema International, to offer full-length screenings from the studio's library of art-focused film and video media. Typically found in museums and film festivals, Microcinema is looking to Imeem for a wider distribution. Imeem first partnered with Palm Pictures just before Halloween for the screening of "The Eye."

[img src="" caption="" credit="" alt=""]Is Imeem going the route of MySpace? MySpaceTV has been really ramping up its own efforts to bring exclusive content in various forms--independent shows made for Internet distribution, and even taking part in the creation of its own show. And in partnering with multiple film studios, Imeem is taking the same path as several video-sharing sites over the summer, including Babelgum. The distribution deal between Imeem and Microcinema will result in multiple screenings.

Even though it seems as though everyone is teaming up with social networks for extended distribution of their content, I think it's a good entrant for content that may not bee seen by such a large audience otherwise. Over the next year we'll see even more integrated ways in which to enjoy distributed media through social networks.
