An acquisition in the IM space today: IMified, which lets you interact with web applications from your IM client, has acquired the RSS-to-IM service Feedcrier. Feedcrier is among a handful of RSS-to-IM services that debuted last year (we also covered Sabifoo, which did the reverse - IM to RSS). The price is unknown, but presumably provides a nice payout for founder Adam Kalsey, who previously founded the RSS marketing service Pheedo.

IMified claims that this is a technology buy. The future for IMified sounds a lot more mobile: they'll be focused on presence-based alerts that can be forwarded to your mobile phone via sms (obviously Twitter is bolstering the mobile space). You'll also be able to interact with IMified on mobile browsers.

Feedcrier is being renamed IMified Alerts, and the service will continue as normal.
