IMSafer, the parental online monitoring service for instant messengers and MySpace, will announce features on Thursday that match MySpace's Zephyr project. We first covered IMSafer's initial MySpace monitoring tool in March.
IMSafer's latest feature will allow parents to monitor the name, age and location that their children use on MySpace. This tool is similar in function to what MySpace's Zephyr is proposed to do when it is released this summer. Now, when a child logs onto MySpace, IMSafer will notify parents of any changes that are made regarding the age, name or location used. IMSafer also monitors the content of MySpace comments and instant messages. Though these conversations aren't recorded, they do pick up on flagged language.
