An Indian-origin woman working as a cashier at a convenience store in Georgia, United States, is getting applauded for bravely fighting off an armed robber with her bare hands. Needless to say, the theft did not go well for the robber who was eventually forced to flee.

Video footage of the incident from the store's surveillance camera shows 17-year-old Christian Thornton buying a Mountain Dew at the store in Burke County, Georgia at 11 a.m. At the cashcounter, he quickly draws a gun and points it at the clerk Bhumika Patel, demanded cash. In turn, Patel fights back, initially with her bare hands and then by pulling out a cash drawer and hammer. She even chased him with the hammer outside the store. The suspect was caught later.
