The national office of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity disbanded its Indiana University chapter on Thursday after a video surfaced on Twitter that appears to show a man performing oral sex on a woman in front of a crowd of shirtless men.

And there it goes, the A in ATO is no more. Power drill got the job done. A car drove by and taunted pic.twitter.com/ODVxjBjjX0— Justin L. Mack (@justinlmack) October 8, 2015

Though it's somewhat unclear what is happening in the video or when it was recorded, a tweet from Indiana University's Twitter account said the events shown in the video are being treated as a possible fraternity hazing ritual. The university had initially suspended the fraternity chapter on Wednesday.

Our campus is committed to a culture of care. Alpha Tau Omega (ATO) is suspended immediately, pending investigation into hazing allegations.— Indiana University (@IUBloomington) October 8, 2015

If true, the alleged actions of Alpha Tau Omega (ATO) run completely contrary to our commitment to fostering a culture of care and respect.— Indiana University (@IUBloomington) October 8, 2015

A statement on the university's website said that the video shows a "purported new chapter member" being "encouraged to perform a sex act on a female."

The actions depicted in the video violate the school's code of conduct, according to the statement, though it did not say what punishments may result.
