Oct. 1 marks 10 years since Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo flipped the switch on the world's first 3G network in Tokyo. Heralding new speeds and amazing possibilities such as "real-time videoconferencing or sending and receiving e-mail attachments with 10,000 characters," it was an important moment in cellular history.
To celebrate this milestone, we decided to take a look back at some of the most significant consumer mobile phones in the past 10 years -- a decade in which a huge amount has changed in the industry.
