With a camera's ability to capture the moment, sometimes the best way to travel to the past is with a simple photograph.
That's especially true in our current MashableReads book selection, City on Fire by Garth Risk Hallberg, a tour-de-force novel that paints of portrait of New York City in the 1970s. In the novel, one of the many characters is an amateur photographer. Later, the photos she takes becomes clues to an unsolved mystery.
