Instagram Adds Video and Other News You Need to Know

Welcome to this morning's edition of "First To Know," a series in which we keep you in the know on what's happening in the digital world.

Today, we're looking at three particularly interesting stories. The Guardian published another set of classified documents, which reportedly detail the NSA's surveillance procedures for Americans. In a press conference Thursday, Instagram cofounder Kevin Systrom introduced a rival to Vine: Instagram Video, a new service for Instagram’s 130 million monthly active users. And finally Aaron’s Law introduces reform to anti-hacking legislation in Congress. The proposed reform to the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act is named after Aaron Swartz, the late activist and hacker who was being prosecuted under the act when he committed suicide.
