1,556 Instagrams Make 1 Incredible Stop-Motion Video

Rumors are floating around that Instagram intends to jump into the world of video-sharing, but the creative duo FriendsInFaux have made their own video from Instagram photos -- 1,556 of them, to be exact.

While the short film's plot follows a casual beach-goer's trials and tribulations, the animation is more than just a straight-forward compilation of Instagrams (which still would have been an impressive undertaking).

In a behind-the-scenes video, Paul B. Cummings and Eriq Wities explain that they were addressing the question, "What are all the fun things that could happen on Instagram?" Taking cues from the Instagram user experience, they incorporated a phone, swiping, and popular Instagram filters into the video.

According to an AMA (Ask Me Anything) that Cummings and Wities hosted on YouTube, the entire process took about three weeks, from conception to the final edits. While some commentors have debated the credibility of the video's use of Instagram photos and stop-motion, FriendsInFaux have publicly shared all the photos on Instagram as proof, along with a time-lapse showing their animation process.
