First of all, if you're not familiar with SuperGlued, and you're an avid fan of concerts, you should probably download the app [iTunes link] now (sadly, there's no Android app -- yet). The New York-based service launched in 2009, and it's basically a slicker version of "Foursquare for bands," Flowd -- but more focused on fan utility. Music fans can use the service to find upcoming shows in their area, and interact with those shows by tweeting, posting photos, checking in via Foursquare, and browsing other checkins and social media shares -- all within the app. One can also purchase tickets via the service, and create a profile detailing favorite and past concerts.

Now, SuperGlued is working to bring fans closer to bands by launching contests such as the most recent campaign with Interpol. Between today and February 19, fans can sign up for the contest on the SuperGlued website, and integrate their other social media accounts with the service. Users are then challenged to undertake such tasks as posting a video of themselves singing a cover of an Interpol song (on YouTube), post photos (via Flickr), videos, blog reviews and setlists from shows they attend, tweet about the show, check in at the show, etc.

Winners score such prizes as the chance to meet the band, signed merch or Interpol's new album.

SuperGlued has done contests like this in the past -- according to founder Rush Doshi, the company first got the idea last summer with its Summer Music Junkie Contest, which awarded winners with a full year of shows at Brooklyn Bowl (a music venue in New York).
