"We're not meant to save the word. We're meant to leave it."

With those words from Michael Caine, it's finally clear what Christopher Nolan has been up to with Interstellar, his follow-up to the Dark Knight trilogy. In the first full-length trailer for the November release, our suspicions about the mysterious project come true: Matthew McConaughey is traveling through space -- and possibly time -- to find mankind's next home (pause for goosebumps shiver).

An earlier trailer was considerably more vague, with lofty language about exploration and all that. This one gets down to brass tacks. Make that roaring rockets.

What we know now that we didn't before: The world has run out of food. McConaughey is a pilot/astronaut who has been training -- whether he knew it or not -- to make the leap from Earth to whatever's out there waiting for us. Hopefully where there's food. A rocket-boosted spacecraft designed by Caine's character will escort McConaughey and his fellow explorers, who are wearing old-school domed space helmets and, at one point, going into some kind of underwater sleep chamber.

McConaughey tells his kids he'll be back. (Pause for second goosebumps shiver.) But when? And in what form?

Knowing how secretive Nolan is, we're guessing details will be scant between now and that November release, so enjoy this moment of discovery while it lasts.
