Intuu is a new social network that lets users express their interests and find others that share similar interests. The concept isn't new at all, even in this simplified format that enables a laser-focus on users' various interests, without the erroneous factors added in. But founder Nick Lisi understands that, and is taking a rather direct approach to recommendations and people search in order to get some traction going for intuu.
One way in which this is accomplished is by posting a user's current primary interest beside their username wherever it appears on the site. This gives other users a point of attraction while surfing the site. The subsequent interaction that goes on between users as a result of the initial connection is a core attribute for Intuu as well, but it's something Lisi and his team are still working towards through search.
"Right now the biggest thing is search," said Lisi. "Some upcoming features to help users find each other will be a profile tagging system and search by tags, as well as an automated friend recommendation engine."
