Coming to Winter Olympics 2018: Competitive Snow Angels

The comparison between the Winter and Summer Olympics is historically kinder to the latter.

The former suffers from its season's less-than-ideal conditions. Everyone, audience and athletes alike, are already freezing. And with events that revolve around ice and snow, it's human instinct to steer clear.

It makes you wonder whose idea it was to invent sports for this terrible season. That's where comedy sketch group Local Empire has stepped up to find an answer.

The group introduce the (fictional) inventor of "most of" the winter sports you'll see at Sochi. The interviewer uncovers how sportsman Harry Bootweather gets his inspiration from everyday events since, as he states, "winter sports can be anything."

We're also privileged with a glimpse at some proposed new sports that could take place in 2018, such as: texting with cold fingers, snow angels and speed snow angels. Take a look and start practicing for Pyeongchang.
