If you're geek at heart, like most of us here at Mashable are, you gotta appreciate science fiction just a little bit. Having started my SF geekdom career with a pinch of Stanislaw Lem and Clifford Simak, continuing with a whole lot of Gibson and Stephenson and currently stirring some Simmons into the mix, I'm happy to see the launch of io9, Gawker's new blog on all things science fiction.
