At its iPhone 5 event today, Apple's senior VP of iOS, Scott Forstall, showed off a host of new features coming to iOS 6.

While we already got a good peek at iOS 6 back in June at WWDC, Forstall took the time to show off more detail of what users can expect from the next version of the OS.

Forstall showed off Apple's new Maps app, which will replace Google Maps on the device.

Apple Maps uses point-of-interest data points from Yelp and takes in information from Waze for real-time traffic alerts. It also will incorporate Tom Tom's turn-by-turn navigation features.

Some of the other new features include:

Improvements to Siri

Facebook integration

Full screen viewing in Safari

Shared photo streams

The ability to use FaceTime over cellular networks

You can learn about these features in detail in our iOS 6 guide.

iOS 6 will be available on September 19, 2012.
