A ring is better than a ticket. Hands down.

Jeff Schlute and his girlfriend of Johnston, Iowa, were on their way to Thanksgiving dinner when they were stopped by a police car. Office Matt Chiles told Schlute he had been driving 46 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone.

Yet the stop was actually an elaborate plan cooked up by Chiles and Schlute to help him to propose to his girlfriend. After a seemingly intense pat-down, Schlute finally popped the question.

Luckily, his now fiancé doesn't mind getting pranked.
