Designer Joelle Aeschlimann from ECAL has created a unique way to interact with the iPad. Her project "Little Boxes" includes a set of three devices ranging in size that turns the tablet into a hand-cranked music box.

By placing the crank on the screen and turning the lever, the user is able to play a tune like a traditional player.

The physical device is simply constructed from wood and includes rubber tips seen on tablet stylus pens. The Adobe Air iOS software recognizes the rotating mechanical movements and is able to generate music and visual content on the screen.
