The iPad Pro is out, and naturally, it's already been torn to pieces by iFixit. We've expected that, but what we didn't know was that the most interesting part of Apple's largest iPad were its speakers.

Of course, there's the huge 10,307mAh battery, a fairly new design with the logic board placed in the iPad Pro's center and the fact that the entire thing is nearly impossible to repair on your own.

By far the most interesting part of the iPad Pro, however, is its four speakers. As it turns out, they are quite large -- each with its own resonance chamber, machined into the device's aluminium case. They take quite a bit of space -- iFixit estimates they occupy about half as much as space as the battery does.

While that might sound like a waste, keep in mind that, at 1.57 pounds, the iPad Pro is already quite heavy, and stuffing it with an even bigger battery would make that worse.

And the speakers are worth it. Not only are they loud (read our iPad Pro review here), they're also smart, as their self-balancing drivers always make sure the higher frequencies are sent to the top speaker pair, regardless of whether you hold the device in portrait or landscape mode.
