IT'S HERE: AT&T iPhone MMS Update Released

Apple made your heart flutter when they announced iPhone 3.0 would support Multimedia Messaging Service. Then it sank when you found out that it wouldn't launch in the U.S. so that AT&T could prepare its network for the stress. That was back in June.

Now, after an entire summer of waiting (and of complaints), MMS for the iPhone in the U.S. has arrived. The highly anticipated update, which AT&T pushed out on-time, is now available via iTunes for most AT&T customers. Just install the update and reboot your phone.

As we noted yesterday though, this feature is long overdue. There is legitimate worry that AT&T will not be able to handle the stress of millions of iPhone users sending pictures to their friends via MMS for the first time.
