Israel Ends iPad Ban

Israel is lifting a ban on iPads today, following a two-week ban over concerns they'd interfere with other electronics. Testing proved that this wasn't the case, and the 20 iPads that were confiscated under the ban are being released.

For a country as technically advanced as Israel, the ban was frankly bizarre, and perhaps Israeli startups can now get on with developing a multitude of new iPad apps.

Reuters writes of the change: "The tests proved the device identifies the Wi-fi access point in its surroundings and adjusts itself automatically, enabling the iPad to be operated without interfering with other wireless devices, the ministry said."
