LONDON -- J.K. Rowling may be one of the world's best-selling authors and arguably the greatest Twitter badass of all-time, but she's still like the rest of us in many ways.

Rowling was obviously battling writer's block on Thursday, so she took to Twitter to share her struggle -- and it's a struggle anyone whose ever tried to write anything, whether it's a school assignment or a novel, will know all too well.

All I've done so far this week is change three characters' genders and I still don't know whether their current genitalia are permanent.— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) January 28, 2016

It wasn't long before fellow author Sathnam Sanghera chipped in, and a whole conversation about fonts started.

@jk_rowling I've changed the font on 3,000 words. So you're still winning.— Sathnam Sanghera (@Sathnam) January 28, 2016

@Sathnam I've messed about with bullet points and shading, too. You can waste a lot of time on a plan while feeling vaguely productive.— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) January 28, 2016

@jk_rowling what's your font of choice jk? Have a theory that all the best people use Times New Roman. And only psychopaths use Calibri— Sathnam Sanghera (@Sathnam) January 28, 2016

@Sathnam Currently using Cambria. Love Times New Roman. Calibri's not the worst. I'd handwrite a manuscript before I used Arial or Helvetica— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) January 28, 2016

@jk_rowling *changes everything to Cambria* *sees how it feels* *wastes another day* (saw yr manuscript in BL once, reassured by use of A4)— Sathnam Sanghera (@Sathnam) January 28, 2016

@Sathnam Narrow lined A4 is optimal.— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) January 28, 2016

@jk_rowling @Sathnam Thank you both. I've just found my displacement activity of the day! This is like a Cliff Clavin moment from Cheers.— Sanjeev Bhaskar (@TVSanjeev) January 28, 2016

@TVSanjeev @Sathnam Little known fact about the Cambria font. It has nothing to do with Wales.— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) January 28, 2016

At some point, they realised what they were doing.

@jk_rowling @TVSanjeev @mark_haddon procrastinating by tweeting about procrastinating about fonts is a new low for all of us, I fear.— Sathnam Sanghera (@Sathnam) January 28, 2016

Rowling finished with the following very real, if mildly depressing, hashtag.

@Sathnam @TVSanjeev @mark_haddon #notashamed #AWritersLifeIsALonelyLife— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) January 28, 2016

A writer's life may be a lonely one, true, but it's surely not as bad as it would've been before the Internet.

At least now we have Twitter.
