LONDON -- J.K. Rowling is clearly not the biggest Donald Trump fan in the world -- and she's not afraid to bust out the occasional Harry Potter reference to put him (and his team) in their place.

The latest example of this came in response to a tweet posted by Trump's campaign spokeswoman, Katrina Pierson, back in 2012 (before she became his spokeswoman).

Perfect Obama's dad born in Africa, Mitt Romney's dad born in Mexico. Any pure breeds left? #CNNDebate— Katrina Pierson (@KatrinaPierson) January 20, 2012

Pierson was appointed as spokesperson for Donald Trump in November 2015. Back in January 2012 she was working as a talk show host for America's Web Radio and Radio Sandy Springs, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Although her tweet is a few years old it appears to have resurfaced recently, prompting a variety of criticism. Some people were also quick to make a connection to Harry Potter.

@gomaketrouble @KatrinaPierson @jk_rowling Please leave draco out of this. this is pure voldemort.— HollyFan (@HollyFan3) January 24, 2016

Then, on Sunday, Rowling weighed in.

Death Eaters walk among us. https://t.co/tqKq1anHpf— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) January 24, 2016

To be fair, "pure breeds" does sound disturbingly close to "pure-bloods" -- the term used by certain characters in the Harry Potter novels to try and elevate themselves above other wizards and witches by implying their heritage is more magically pure.

People had a variety of different reactions to Rowling's tweet.

This isn't the first time that Rowling has used Harry Potter to hit back at Trump. Last month, in response to a BBC Newsbeat article about people comparing Trump to Voldemort, Rowling tweeted the following:

How horrible. Voldemort was nowhere near as bad. https://t.co/hFO0XmOpPH— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) December 8, 2015

Rowling is now the undisputed Queen of the Twitter burn.
