Jack Dorsey's Parents Want to Be Verified on Twitter

If you don't have a verified account on Twitter, don't feel too bad: neither do Jack Dorsey's parents.

The Twitter co-founder's parents Tim and Marcia Dorsey tweeted this week that they would like to be verified on the service. We're not sure why they didn't go to Jack directly.

Twitter I'm not @verified....Should I be?— Marcia Dorsey (@marciadorsey) April 9, 2013

@verified you should verify me I'm jack's dad.— Tim Dorsey (@Tim535353) April 9, 2013

We reached out to Jack's father for comment and to Twitter for confirmation about the authenticity of these accounts, but did not immediately hear back. However, Jack does follow both accounts and has retweeted at least one post mentioning him and his father by their Twitter handles, suggesting that these are the real deal.

The #Rams are proud to present jerseys to @jack and his father, @tim535353, a big #Rams fan and STH! twitter.com/STLouisRams/st…— St. Louis Rams (@STLouisRams) April 6, 2013

Several Twitter users have started to weigh in on Mr. and Mrs. Dorsey's requests to be verified, including the mayor of St. Louis -- where they live -- who happens to be a verified user himself.

@jack Success has a thousand fathers. Very confusing. That's a good reason to @verify the real @tim535353. #fgs— MayorSlay.com (@MayorSlay) April 9, 2013

time to get @tim535353 and @marciadorsey @verified! After all they are the GRANDPARENTS OF TWITTER. bit.ly/10JYikW CC: @jack— Sam Levin (@SamTLevin) April 9, 2013

..Not sure why @jacks's parents@tim535353 @marciadorsey don't have the #bluecheckswag by being @verified but they are NO doubt his parents— heykim (@heykim) April 9, 2013

Do you think Twitter should grant their request to be verified? Share in the comments.
