We’ve covered Jaman a number of times here at Mashable in the past. A company devoted to the delivery of independent films in digital download form, Jaman is one of those stories that you really wish to achieve success. Without any backing from big media establishments, the specialist of the film-fest world has managed to remain in play for over a year’s time, and the continued expansion of its archive is a display of substantive perseverance that shows no signs of waning.

Jaman’s recently announced deal with TiVo is further proof of ascension to more mainstream legitimacy. The arrangement between the indie film outlet and the DVR (digital video recorder) service, disclosed to the public Jan 17, reveals a partnership that will enable TiVo users of both Series 2 [img src="http://sale-online.click/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/tivo.PNG" caption="" credit="" alt="tivologo"]and 3 set top devices to “access thousands of American independent and international film titles directly from the TV screen.”

Until now, Jaman’s extensive catalogue has been officially presented only to desktop and laptop computer users. Throughout much of 2007, the company revealed a desire to strike a deal with Apple Inc and its Apple TV invention, but nothing entirely sanctioned by Cupertino or the content distribution startup was ever unveiled.

This contract signed by Jaman and TiVo, however, offers the still-young indie purveyor a wide window of opportunity through which it may gain a significantly larger membership.

Currently, Jaman’s front-end financial structure is simple and attractive. Digital rentals, which carry with them time-sensitive limits (enforced via DRM software: one week given to play movies; 24-hours to complete videos from start to finish), run users $1.99 each. Downloads can also be purchased outright for $4.99.

And those numbers will, wonderfully enough, carry over to TiVo subscribers. According to a press release of the new deal, “a number of shorts and full-length films (will be) available to download for free” in an effort to promote the service.
