This resignation comes as a result of the failed acquisition talks with the organizations that were interested in buying Jangl. Due to a number of factors (including some reports in the news like ours), the talks broke down, and on late Monday evening (made official on Tuesday) when it looked like the deals in play weren't going to spring back to life, Michael and Ben submitted resignations from the organization.

Michael, Ben, and as it turns out most of the engineering team from Jangl are all landing on their feet.  Five of the top developers from Jangl are being taken under the direction of Ben Dean over to JaJah, a partner organization to Jangl and a player in the same mobile social networking space. The development team will be brought up out of Israel (where they're currently based) into the promised land for Web 2.0, San Francisco.

Michael Cerda will also be headed over there as well, with the responsibility to head of business development and sales. There, he'll apply the same diligence and partner making ability that kept Jangl-related news in front of our faces so often during the life of the Jangl.

What's going on with Jangl, though?  Well, Michael didn't want to speak for Jangl directly, considering he's no longer a part of the organization.  He said he'd be sending more information my direction, and I do have a call in with Tim Johnson, in charge of Jangl's corporate communications.  VentureBeat is presently reporting that Jangl's assets will be sold off, but I haven't received confirmation on that as of this time.

When I spoke to Michael, I could tell that he was still a little stung by the recent string of events that's brought down the company, but that he's landing on his feet and still going to be able to work with the core team that brought the organization up from nothing is a consolation prize that's keeping him in relatively good spirits.
