Jangl now supports text messaging. You could already call friends in a free and private manner (and by private, I mean that no one has to give out their number). In the same manner that you initiate or receive a phone call through Jangl, you'll also be able to get SMS messages. Not that any of you out there don't have text messaging plans (unlimited, at that), but if you don't have a plan, or you've simply run out for the month, perhaps Jangl's new offering will be of interest to you.
As the receiver of messages, you can also direct where you'd like them routed. Get all text messages from family members sent to your computer, and read text messages from friends on your mobile. The new text features have also been included with Jangl's Facebook app, so you won't lose a beat there.

As Jangl looks to further integrate its service through partnerships with social networks like Fubar and Tagged, it's important, especially for the main demographic of most popular social networks, for Jangl to have as many options for users as possible. And by extending out to text messaging, it will even attract an entirely new set of users that can be targeted with ads on a new platform through Jangl. The plan is for Jangl's new text options to help the company grow on a global scale. That should be good for advertising dollars as well.
