More than two months after New York Giants star Jason Pierre-Paul severely injured his right hand in a Fourth of July fireworks injury, we now have photographic evidence of the damage.
Pierre-Paul, however, seems to insist his mangled hand won't be a problem.

The 26-year-old Pierre-Paul, a defensive end for the New York Giants, is a two-time Pro Bowler, and was first-team All-Pro in 2011. He was -- at least until recently -- seen as one of the franchise's cornerstones. Then came the Fourth of July accident, after which he had to have his right index finger amputated.
Now, judging by this photo obtained by the New York Daily News, it appears Pierre-Paul's right thumb and middle finger sustained some serious damage as well. Warning: It's a little graphic.

Pierre-Paul tweeted Thursday that he'll be just fine without a digit or three.
I can't think of the last time my index finger got me a sack— iamjasonpierrepaul (@UDWJPP) September 17, 2015
This, however, does present a compelling counter-argument.

Pierre-Paul remains in contract limbo with the Giants thanks to his finger injury, but has been lobbying for a comeback sooner than later in the court of public opinion. Earlier in the week, he posted this Instagram video that showed him working out -- but did not offer a close look at his right hand.
