LOS ANGELES -- Jean-Claude Van Damme is reportedly tackling TV with new Amazon series in which he is expected to play -- what else? -- a version of himself.

The new scripted comedy, called Jean-Claude Van Johnson, will have the actor and martial artist starring as a secret black ops private contractor, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Representatives for Amazon Studios and Van Damme did not respond to requests for comment Tuesday.

Dave Callaham (The Expendables) will write and executive produce. Scott Free Television's Ridley Scott and David Zucker will also serve as EPs.

Van Damme is most famous for his action features, including The Expendables 2, Double Team and Hard Target. But you may also remember seeing him on TV (in that one Friends episode).

He's also working on his official website for fans.
