Jeff Bezos Will Get Even Richer Off Twitter IPO

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos' venture capital firm was an early investor in Twitter and will presumably make a big profit from the company's upcoming IPO.

Bezos Expeditions, his personal investment vehicle, was among a handful of firms that made a second round investment in Twitter in 2008. The amount his firm invested is unclear.

Twitter filed a confidential IPO on Thursday, an option under the JOBS Act to avoid public scrutiny for companies making less than $1 billion in revenues. According to estimates, Twitter's valuation falls in the $10.5 billion to $14 billion range.

Twitter's first round investment in 2007 included Union Square Ventures, Marc Andreesen, Ron Conway, Naval Ravikant and Charles River Ventures. Bezos Expeditions joined Spark Capital in that second round. Bezos' firms other investments include AirBnB, Uber, Business Insider and NextDoor.

Since that time, many others have also invested in Twitter, including BlackRock Private Equity Partners, Institutional Venture Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Benchmark Capital.

Bezos' net worth, meanwhile, is estimated to be around $25 billion.
