Jeff Goldblum's baby was born on Independence Day, so the world makes sense again

The planets have aligned for a truly spectacular occurrence. Independence Day star Jeff Goldblum and his wife Emilie Livingston welcomed their new baby on — wait for it — Independence Day.

Mind = blown. That's like Bill Murray having a baby on Groundhog Day.

The couple posted a photo to Facebook welcoming baby Charlie to the world. And before you get all curmudgeonly about "Charlie" being far too normal for a celebrity baby, don't worry — his middle name is "Ocean."

"We're so excited to share the wonderful news of the birth of our son, Charlie Ocean Goldblum, born on the 4th of July. Independence Day," the couple wrote in the photo caption.

The miraculous timing is especially fitting, as Goldblum is set to reprise his original role in 2016's Independence Day: Resurgence. A perplexing teaser for the film was posted this weekend.
