Ever since Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt called it quits, her love life has been fodder for tabloids who just want "poor Jen" to get married and have children -- because that's obviously the only way she'll ever find happiness and fulfillment.

It's wishful thinking to assume the rags will finally leave well enough alone now that she and actor Justin Theroux are officially married -- but we can only hope.

Here's a handy timeline of Aniston's love life post-Pitt, including the many, many times tabloids have jumped the gun on reporting her marriage to Theroux.

2005-2006: Vince Vaughn

Aniston paired up with co-star Vince Vaughn after meeting on the set of The Break-Up. (Really? The name of the movie wasn't enough of a warning?)

2007: Paul Sculfor

Following her split from Vaughn, Aniston was linked to British model Paul Sculfor.

2008 - 2009: John Mayer

If nothing else, Aniston's relationship and subsequent break-up with Mayer yielded that infamous Rolling Stone interview in which he compares breaking up with her to "burning the American flag."

2011: Aniston begins dating Justin Theroux

Aniston first met Theroux on the set of Tropic Thunder in 2007, courtesy of their mutual friend, Ben Stiller -- though it might not have been love at first sight.

"I thought he was very sweet and he was always very nice," Aniston later told Pop Sugar. "But I remember thinking he was very dark. At first you think he could be like a serial killer, but he is actually the nicest person in the world."

Following months of rumored romance after they reconnected while shooting Wanderlust, the two appeared together in public for the first time at the MTV Movie Awards afterparty in June of 2011.

March 2012: Baby on the way?

Not ones to miss out on potential unconfirmed drama, Life and Style printed rumors the following year that the two were getting serious -- like, marriage and babies serious.

August 10, 2012: Engagement

After a year of dating, Theroux officially proposed to Aniston on his birthday. How could a girl say no?

January 2013: Supposed elopement in Mexico

Not wanting to miss even a minuscule opportunity to sell magazines, Ok!, "the only magazine with the real story," stepped forth in January of 2013 to claim that Theroux and Aniston ran off to Mexico for a shotgun wedding.

March 2013: "Married!"

One wedding wasn't enough, presumably, because just two months later, Ok! reported an "exclusive" that not only were they getting married (again), but Aniston was also going to take Theroux's last name. (She didn't even take Brad Pitt's when they were married.)

August 2014: "DUMPED"

But not so fast -- Life and Style chimed in with break-up rumors in August of 2014, detailing just how "humiliating" it was for poor Jen to be dumped on her supposed wedding day.

If you're getting tired trying to keep up with these rumors, imagine being at the center of it.

"I realize they need to sell magazines," Aniston told InStyle earlier this year, "but it's really getting old. What kills me is when friends send me pictures they've taken at a newsstand. One magazine says, 'Desperate and alone,' and the other one says, 'She's eloped!' I mean, at least consult."

August 5, 2015: It's official -- for real this time

Finally, after what rags will have you believe were years of rocky romance, Aniston and Theroux have actually tied the knot. Representatives for both actors did not immediately respond to messages from Mashable, but according to People, the wedding was a ceremony held in their Bel Air home in front of just over 70 guests.

Still, we have the feeling that this won't stop tabloids from continuing to weave their collective "poor Jen" tales. Any bets on which one will report a divorce or "trouble in paradise" next week?
