The most-anticipated 2015 coaching debut in America finally gets beamed into America's living rooms Thursday night when Jim Harbaugh -- freshly released from the rotting San Francisco 49ers -- leads the Michigan Wolverines against the Utah Utes on national TV.

But before Harbaugh became the Wolverines coach, he was many things: Saved by the Bell actor, dad-pants style icon and social media critic among them.

And before all that, Harbaugh himself was a Michigan Wolverines quarterback from 1983 to 1987.

Harbaugh's playing career at Michigan peaked in his final year, when he finished third in Heisman Trophy voting, led the Wolverines to the 1987 Rose Bowl and passed for 10 touchdowns along with (at the time) a school-record 2,729 yards. He was a first-round pick in the 1987 NFL Draft, and went on to have stints with six teams before retiring as a player in 2001.

You'll be seeing Harbaugh (the coach) everywhere between now and the end of college football season -- so let's start the year right, with a quick look back at Harbaugh (the player).
