Mo'ne Davis, the 13-year-old pitching phenom who landed the cover of Sports Illustrated, took time this week to further burnish her place in history by participating in a battle against funnyman Jimmy Fallon.

Accompanied by her catcher, Scott Bandura, Davis joined Fallon on his Tonight Show set in a winner-take-all strikeout match. The prize? A delicious Philly cheesesteak.

Peppered with a healthy dose of humorous posturing and attempts at subterfuge by Fallon, the 10-pitch showdown could be one of the last times the public gets to see Davis in action on such a high-profile platform now that her Little League career is over.

As expected, the star pitcher gave Fallon a pretty tough time, even though the two were playing with wiffle balls -- making her trademark 70-mph fastball impossible in the small studio.

We won't ruin the surprise, but be sure to watch until the end, when a play by Davis inspires Fallon to engage in a time-honored baseball tradition that serves as the perfect ending to the strikeout challenge.
