Prank Victims Think iPhones Smell Like Coffee and Roses

Jimmy Kimmel wants to get all up in your nasal passageways.

The comedian once again sent his team onto the streets of Los Angeles to prank unsuspecting victims for his popular "Lie Witness News" segment. This time, the premise involved an iPhone that emits scents.

Technically, the concept of an iPhone producing a smell isn't all that insane. A plugin called Scentee is available in Japan, but the phone in the video above was not scented.

Kimmel's prank had a placebo effect; people believed they could actually discern smells. They confessed to smelling hints of coffee, rose and even "purple," all while a cameraman waved a scent-less phone under their nostrils.

People of Hollywood Boulevard, when will you ever learn?
