LONDON -- J.K. Rowling has hit back at the Daily Express over their latest front page story, which criticises the BBC for filming religious program Songs of Praise in a Calais migrant camp.

The Harry Potter author slammed newspaper owner Richard Desmond over the article, in which UKIP leader Nigel Farage and other critics accuse the BBC of trying to influence the political debate over migrants.

"Newspaper owned by man who got rich peddling pornography condemns the BBC for filming migrants singing hymns," she wrote in a tweet including the paper's front page.

Plenty of Twitter users agreed with her.

@jk_rowling Clearly the Express not understanding how if you're Christian that's *exactly* the place you should be helping— wafflycat (@wafflycat) August 11, 2015

@jk_rowling I think Jesus would approve of Songs of Praise's actions more than the Daily Express. Or its owner.— TonyCross (@Lokster71) August 11, 2015

The Daily Express isn't the first victim of Rowling's ire on Twitter, and probably won't be the last. In July, she took down a body-shaming troll for a comment about Serena Williams.
