LONDON -- On Monday, news of the actors who'd be playing Harry, Ron and Hermione in the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play broke, and social media was packed with people talking about Noma Dumezweni being cast as Hermione.

After fans began asking J.K. Rowling for her opinion on the casting, she tweeted a response saying that "white skin was never specified" and that she "loves black Hermione."

Canon: brown eyes, frizzy hair and very clever. White skin was never specified. Rowling loves black Hermione https://t.co/5fKX4InjTH— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) December 21, 2015
