Comedian and TV personality Joan Rivers passed away on Thursday at the age of 81 after several days on life support at Mount Sinai hospital in New York City.
Rivers, a Brooklyn native, got her start on the theater circuit -- but her big break came on The Tonight Show, where she often guest hosted for Johnny Carson. She was also a best-selling author and has made countless cameos in television shows and movies, most recently the host of E!'s Fashion Police. We have her to thank for the red carpet question, "Who are you wearing?"
